Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What is the breakdown of overseas-trained doctors who are currently underemployed in New Zealand, listed by country of origin, country where their degree was awarded, and their registration status (i.e. if they have previously been registered), as at 4 March 2025?

Hon Simeon Brown: Our Government is focused on delivering timely, quality healthcare for all New Zealanders. As the Member will be aware, Health officials do not hold information on where overseas-trained doctors are employed outside of the New Zealand health system.
