8860 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Associate Minister of Finance: As of 1 April 2024 how many claims remain outstanding with Toka Tū Ake EQC in respect of the Nelson / Marlborough August 2022 Severe Floods and when is it expected that all claims will be resolved?

Hon David Seymour: I am advised that as at the close of business 31 March 2024, 96 percent of claims for the Nelson/Marlborough floods have been settled, with 51 claims remaining from a total of 1,447 received. These are claims where access to the site has been compromised so assessments have been delayed or they are recently lodged claims. I am advised that claims continue to be lodged as homeowners have two years from the date of the event to do so. The Earthquake Commission Toka Tū Ake expects most of the remaining claims will be resolved by 30 June 2024.
