8852 (2025). Hon Rachel Brooking to the Minister for Food Safety: Does he consider it a food safety issue that some students have been provided school lunches with plastic packaging melted into the contents?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: Plastic packaging should not be melted into the contents of any food. My officials in New Zealand Food Safety are investigating this matter. They have discussed the situation with the Ministry of Education and met with the lunch provider.
