8849 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Was the Health Commissioner, the Health Minister or the Prime Minister made aware of the public censure of Leo Foliaki by the Institute of Chartered Accountants before or after he was contracted by Health NZ, and if so, on what date?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that Health New Zealand was made aware as part of the background check process. I am further advised that this awareness was not considered material to the scope of Mr Foliaki's role as a part-time advisor with no decision-making authority.
