8846 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: How many senior executives, if any, have resigned or been compelled to leave from Health NZ since the appointment of the Commissioner in July 2024, and has the Health Minister sought any explanation for the reasons behind these departures?

Hon Simeon Brown: Our Government is focused on delivering timely, quality healthcare for all New Zealanders. This requires finding efficiencies within our health agencies to ensure a tight focus on the delivery of frontline care. I am advised that as part of the change process underway at Health New Zealand, seven senior executives’ roles were disestablished between 30 September 2024 and 3 January 2025.
