8820 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What assurances, if any, can he give that the expanded training placements for overseas-trained doctors will not displace opportunities for New Zealand-trained doctors?

Hon Simeon Brown: Our Government is focused on delivering timely, quality healthcare for all New Zealanders. I am advised that the placements announced last week for overseas trained doctors will not displace existing opportunities for New Zealand-trained doctors as these are additional training places.
