8816 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What specific steps, if any, has he taken to coordinate or consult with nursing and medical councils to expedite the registration of overseas-trained doctors and nurses?

Hon Simeon Brown: Our Government is focused on delivering timely, quality healthcare for all New Zealanders. I have continued to engage with stakeholders in the health sector, including the Medical Council of New Zealand and Nursing Council of New Zealand, to ensure that all New Zealanders have timely access to a doctor.
