8797 (2026). Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister responsible for Ministerial Services: How much, if anything, has been budgeted in 2025/26 for purchasing furniture for Premier House and how much, if anything, has been spent to date?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: A small programme of remedial works is currently underway at Premier House. $7,300 has been spent in FY 2025/26 as at 28 February 2026. All furniture is NZ made and manufactured and has been sourced from available products. Officials investigated options to repair or refurbish existing furniture but this was not cost effective. The last time the State Room furnishings were replaced was approx. 20 years ago. At that time second hand furniture was sourced and reupholstered.
