8793 (2026). Hon Julie Anne Genter to the Minister of Transport: What is the assumed oil price, if any, used in the estimate of both costs and benefits in the most recent investment cases for the "Roads of National Significance"?

Hon Chris Bishop: The Roads of National Significance investment cases do not apply an explicit assumed oil price when estimating costs or benefits. Economic appraisal is undertaken in accordance with the NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi Monetised Benefits and Costs Manual, which uses standardised vehicle operating cost parameters in real terms rather than forecasting oil prices.
