8738 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Have any changes been made to cleaning arrangements at Auckland’s North Shore Hospital or any other facility since 27 November 2023, if so, were hospital staff, unions, or other representatives consulted prior to those changes, and on what dates and what feedback was provided?

Hon Simeon Brown: Our Government is focused on delivering timely, quality healthcare for all New Zealanders. I am advised that there are no plans to reduce or eliminate cleaning services for Health New Zealand. I am further advised that Waitematā district made minor changes in October and late 2024 including a central bin system for office areas, and an increase in provisional cleaning services to clinical areas. As it was a minor change, staff were notified via internal channels.
