8670 (2025). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Associate Minister of Education: What was the total cost to the School Lunch Collective to produce all the lunches during the week of February 24th 2025?

Hon David Seymour: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that the cost per meal is $3 under the School Lunch Collective, and for the week beginning 24 February 2025, 481,497 lunches were delivered to schools across the country from the School Lunch Collective. An additional 84 cents will be paid for the two additional food items provided to the Year 9+ students (43% of the students receiving meals from the School Lunch Collective). The Ministry does not hold any information about the actual cost of meals incurred by the School Lunch Collective.
