8657 (2025). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister of Education: How many, if any, teacher roles were unfilled in secondary schools as of February 24th 2025?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) that individual schools and school boards manage their staffing needs and are not required to report the status of vacancies to the Ministry. I am also advised that on 24 February 2025, there were a total of 171 teacher vacancies being advertised in secondary schools on the Education Gazette.
