Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the last quarter (October – December 2023) toward the objective ‘Improve the surveillance and monitoring of hepatitis C’ under ‘Focus area 4: Surveillance and monitoring’ in the National Hepatitis C Action Plan?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the October – December 2023 quarter, the National Hepatitis C Oversight Group met to review progress of the workplan to implement the Hepatitis C Action Plan. I am also advised that during the quarter, Health New Zealand and the Public Health Agency continued modelling to provide new estimates on the incidence and prevalence of Hepatitis C infections.
