Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the last quarter (September – December 2023) has been made toward the action ‘Increasing national and local leadership and collaboration’ under Focus area 1: ‘Surveillance, information and knowledge system actions’ as recommended in the National HIV Action Plan?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that during the October – December 2023 quarter, a Sexually Transmitted and Blood Borne Infections (STBBI) Technical Advisory Group was established to provide technical advice on data and surveillance to the cross-agency STBBI programme team, with an initial focus on components of the HIV Action Plan. I am also advised that during the quarter, the HIV Monitoring Advisory Group, which includes representatives from people living with HIV; Māori, and the health sector, supported development of the HIV monitoring plan.
