8587 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Internal Affairs: What plans, if any, does the Minister have for future proofing the Alexander Turnbull Library’s collection of te Reo Māori texts?

Hon Brooke van Velden: Items in the Alexander Turnbull Library’s collections are held in perpetuity, as set out in the National Library of New Zealand (Te Puna Mātauranga o Aotearoa) Act 2003. Collection items are cared for under comprehensive collection care and preservation policies. Alongside this, there are specific principles that guide the care and preservation of Māori materials.
