8582 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the last quarter (October – December 2023) has been made toward actioning ‘Initiatives that empower and connect people living with HIV’ under ‘Focus area 4: Support for people living with HIV, including stigma and discrimination actions’ as recommended in the National HIV Action Plan?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that in the October – December 2023 quarter, HIV service providers continued to deliver peer and community-led programmes and resources to support and empower people living with HIV. This included work progressed by the new kaupapa Māori peer-led organisation Toitū te Ao, which is funded to connect and empower Māori living with HIV.
