8578 (2026). Steve Abel to the Associate Minister of Agriculture: What consultation, if any, will be conducted with the public regarding a code of welfare for pigs?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: Public consultation on a revised Code of Welfare for Pigs and associated regulations took place from 29 April 2022 to 8 July 2022. No further consultation with the public is planned for the Code, but I have committed to further targeted consultation with various groups and the National Animal Welfare Advisory Committee.
