8574 (2026). Scott Willis to the Associate Minister for Energy: Is the government considering fuel rationing or demand reduction measures?

Hon Shane Jones: New Zealand has established frameworks in place to manage severe fuel supply disruptions, including provisions for demand reduction measures if required. At present, there is no change to normal fuel purchasing arrangements. If such measures were ever required, decisions would be made by the Government and communicated clearly to the public.
