Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made this last quarter (October – December 2023) in implementing ‘Parallel national / regional wide implementation of new software solutions (e.g. EMR, patient portal) by the regional / national digital team, funded separately’ as part of Te Whatu Ora’s National Digital Facilities Framework?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that in the October – December 2023 quarter, the New Dunedin Hospital was the only hospital that moved into the implementation stage for digital solutions. I am further advised that during the quarter, the regional South Island Patient Information Care System was implemented, and planning commenced on a regional South Island scanning solution as well as a room booking and scheduling system.
