8565 (2025). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Associate Minister of Police: Will recruits training at the new Police training base in Auckland be required to travel for training facilities outside of the new facility, if so, what for?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that Police is still planning the delivery of the initial recruit training in Auckland, and no decisions have yet been made on whether travel will be required outside of the new facility. However, I can confirm that Police has existing facilities across Auckland for specialist training, such as defensive driving and firearms training, and these existing facilities are being considered in the current planning.
