8542 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Police: What is the current status of the Retails Firearms Diversion project?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that a Retail Firearms Diversion (RFD) pilot commenced in late 2021. The primary purpose of the RFD project is to collect and analyse the dealer data to identify firearms licence holders who might be engaged in illicit firearm diversion. The findings of the pilot have led to the adoption of the programme that is still operating.
