8500 (2024). Hūhana Lyndon to the Minister of Internal Affairs: What reports, briefings, memos, aides-memoire, notes or written advice, if any, has he received on how the 6.5% budget cuts to the Department of Internal Affairs will impact the provision of services, listed by agency, title and date received?

Hon Brooke van Velden: The Department of Internal Affairs provided its first briefing to portfolio Ministers on 17 January 2024. The Department is continuing to provide advice to Ministers on savings proposals and their potential impacts as part of the Budget 2024 process, which remain confidential until the Budget is announced on 30 May 2024. Some savings proposals and their potential impacts are subject to staff consultation. These decisions will be finalised after final Cabinet decisions on Budget 2024.
