8444 (2024). Hon Rachel Brooking to the Minister of Conservation: Was the Minister consulted on any matters relating to the fast-track approvals bill, including the advisory panel recently appointed, and if so, by what date and title was this feedback provided?

Hon Tama Potaka: As the Fast-track Bill is being jointly developed with the Ministry for the Environment and other agencies, I am primarily consulted on matters relevant to conservation. I’m aware that pre-introduction advice provided to Ministers regarding the fast-track approvals bill is to be proactively released by the Minister for RMA Reform, and I judge it not to be in the public interest to provide this in advance.
