Arena Williams to the Minister of Transport: Further to WPQ 126 (2024), following the Government’s decision regarding the Inter-Island Resilient Connection project as announced by the Minister of Finance on 11 December 2023, will the Ministry of Transport’s assessment of the long-term requirements for a resilient connection across Cook Strait to connect people and enable freight be made available to the public, if at all, and if yes, and by when?

Hon Simeon Brown: I expect both pieces of advice from the Ministry of Transport will be published once Ministers have had the opportunity to fully consider them.
