8411 (2024). Lan Pham to the Minister responsible for RMA Reform: Will a “rigorous cost benefit analysis” of the RM Bill 1 be undertaken?

Hon Chris Bishop: Each of proposals within RM Bill 1 has been, or will be, subject to either a Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) or a Supplementary Analysis Report, in accordance with Cabinet's Impact Analysis Requirements. The proposal relating to Significant Natural Areas was a 100-day Plan initiative and therefore the Ministry for the Environment was exempted from the requirement to provide a RIS.
