8394 (2024). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: Will the Te Ahu a Turanga – Manawatū Tararua Highway be tolled?

Hon Simeon Brown: The Land Transport Management Act 2003 currently allows for tolling on new roads only that have an untolled feasible route. I am therefore not currently considering tolling existing roads or roads with no alternative route. As stated in the draft Government Policy Statement on land transport (GPS 2024), the Government will support all recommendations by the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) to toll roads.
