8379 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Conservation

8379 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Conservation: Further to his reply to WPQ 2913 (2026), what was the number of recorded incidences of sexual harassment, if any, in each calendar year since 2015 in respect of all staff, employees, secondees, contractors, or office holders employed by or engaged with any department or entity for which he has ministerial responsibility in connection with the Conservation portfolio, rather than only staff employed directly in his ministerial office?
Hon Tama Potaka: I am advised that the Department of Conservation collects information relating to incidents or concerns of sexual harassment largely on a case-by-case basis through individual investigation reports. As reports are held by the relevant directorate/HR Advisor, rather than in a central repository, they are unable to easily extract the data requested from their reporting systems. Changes to DOC’s record keeping processes are underway to improve DOC’s ability to report more thoroughly on these issues. However, I am further advised that a manual search of DOC’s records since 2024 identified one case of sexual harassment relating to one individual, categorised as harm, recorded in 2025. This case resulted in cessation of the individual’s employment; however, DOC advises me that at this time further detail on the matter cannot be provided. This is also my response to written questions 8380 (2026), 8381 (2026), 8382 (2026), 8383 (2026), 8384 (2026), 8385 (2026) and 8388 (2026).
