8371 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Internal Affairs: How many staff (current or former) of the Royal Commission of Inquiry into COVID-19 Lessons Learned, if any, have concerns about how commissioners engage with them?

Hon Brooke van Velden: The Chair of the Royal Commission is responsible for the performance of the Royal Commission of Inquiry into COVID-19 Lessons Learned and the Department of Internal Affairs (the Department) is responsible for the employment of staff and any matters that arise within the Secretariat for the Royal Commission. As the Minister of Internal Affairs, I am not responsible for individual employment matters within the Department and the Royal Commission’s Secretariat and it would not be appropriate for me to make further comment.
