8371 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Rural Communities: Is it the Minister’s expectation that they review and/or approve cost-saving plans relating to their departments, ministries and agencies, prior to Cabinet considering the full budget package?

Hon Mark Patterson: Hon Todd McClay, as the Minister responsible for the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI), has been leading the cost savings work with MPI. I have received regular oral updates on proposals, which will be finalised as part of Budget 2024.
