8365 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Internal Affairs: On what date, if any, did funding earmarked for the second phase of the Royal Commission of Inquiry into COVID-19 Lessons Learned commence?

Hon Brooke van Velden: Funding for Phase 2 of the Royal Commission of Inquiry into COVID-19 Lessons Learned was agreed by Cabinet on 23 August 2024. Funding for Phase 2 of the Inquiry commenced when Phase 2 of the Inquiry was formally established by an Amendment Order in Council, which came into effect on 26 September 2024.
