8365 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for the Prevention of Family and Sexual Violence: Is it the Minister’s expectation that they review and/or approve cost-saving plans relating to their departments, ministries and agencies, prior to Cabinet considering the full budget package?

Hon Karen Chhour: It is my expectation to be updated about significant implications with my portfolio responsibility as Minister for the Prevention of Family and Sexual Violence. However, agencies’ cost-savings plans are the responsibility of the chief executive and are subject to Budget decisions which remain confidential until final decisions are approved by Cabinet.
