8362 (2026). Mike Davidson to the Minister of Internal Affairs: What is the average amount of time taken from when Fire and Emergency New Zealand requests air ambulance chopper assistance and when they receive a response, if any? Please break down the average by month since March 2025.

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised the information requested is not held in a way that enables it to be readily extracted. Providing this information would require extensive manual collation across a large number of individual records. In accordance with Speaker’s Ruling 210/6, I consider that the time and resource required to undertake this exercise would be an unreasonable diversion of Fire and Emergency New Zealand’s resources, and therefore it is not in the public interest to provide this information.
