8317 (2024). Hon Julie Anne Genter to the Minister for Land Information: What progress, if any, has been made on the 2019 budget allotment of $4m to prepare the Watts Peninsula land for public access and site maintenance?

Hon Chris Penk: I have been advised by Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) that a significant amount of work at Watts Peninsula has been completed, including hazard assessment work, tree removals and repairs to the main road through the site to improve safety and stormwater runoff. LINZ has also advised that a number of site assessments have been completed so that more can be understood about the archaeological and heritage values of the area and the seismic risks to structures on site.
