Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Pacific Peoples: What briefings or advice, if any, has the Minister received on the fiscal implications of redundancies – voluntary or not – in each of the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies (where applicable within their portfolio) resulting from the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service, listed by title and date?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I have received advice from the Ministry for Pacific Peoples however, these decisions will be finalised after final Cabinet decisions on Budget 2024, which has not yet occurred. I am advised that these decisions are the responsibility of the relevant Chief Executive. Furthermore, I am advised that these decisions are still to be finalised and are subject to staff consultation.
