8269 (2025). Shanan Halbert to the Associate Minister of Health: Is the Minister concerned restrictions on access to puberty blocker for young transgender people could be distressing for the young person and their family, and if not, why not?

Hon Matt Doocey: The Government asked the Ministry of Health to consult on whether there should be additional safety measures for prescribing puberty blockers. Submissions have now closed. The Ministry of Health is analysing the submissions that it received and will provide advice on next steps. A decision will be made in due course.
