Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for the Public Service: What criteria, was employed by the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies to assess the volume of redundancies in each department, if any, resulting from the Government's directive to reduce expenditure in the public service?

Hon Nicola Willis: I have received advice from Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission however, these decisions will be finalised after final Cabinet decisions on Budget 2024, which has not yet occurred. I am advised that these decisions are the responsibility of the relevant Chief Executive. Furthermore, I am advised that these decisions are still to be finalised and will be subject to staff consultation.
