Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Māori Crown Relations: Te Arawhiti: What briefings or advice, if any, has the Minister received on the fiscal implications of any redundancies, if any, in each of the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies, resulting from the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service, listed by title and date?

Hon Tama Potaka: It is my expectation to be updated about significant implications with my portfolio responsibility as Minister. However, agencies’ cost-savings plans are the responsibility of the Chief Executive and are subject to Budget decisions which remain confidential until final decisions are approved by Cabinet.
