Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Treaty of Waitangi Negotiations: What policy changes, if any, have occurred in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, following the Cabinet directive on 13 September 2024 that 'public services should be prioritised on the basis of need, not race'?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised that the Policy Team at the Office of Treaty Settlements and Takutai Moana - Te Tari Whakatau were advised to familiarise themselves with the contents of the circular when it was released. There have not been any specific policy changes. However, the policy team has considered the circular’s contents, where relevant, when providing secondary opinion advice to agencies.
