Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Education: What briefings or advice, if any, has the Minister received on the fiscal implications of any redundancies, if any, in each of the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies, resulting from the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service, listed by title and date?

Hon Erica Stanford: I have primarily received verbal updates from the Secretary of Education on relevant proposals. I note that many of these remain under consultation with staff and all staffing decisions are the responsibility of the Secretary for Education.
