8143 (2026). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Prime Minister: Did the Cabinet Office or any Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet officials have any communications with the Hon Chris Bishop or his staff on the management of the Minister’s potential conflicts of interest regarding the Melling Interchange prior to Cabinet Office giving him new advice at 11:13am on 13 February 2025 and if so, what were the times and nature of any such communications?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In the period prior to 13 February 2025, the Cabinet Office met with Hon Chris Bishop on appointment and then as part of its regular reviews of ministerial interests. These meetings included discussing or reviewing his conflict of interest regarding the Melling Interchange and occurred on 12 December 2023, 1 August 2024 and 27 January 2025.
