8130 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Statistics: How many staff at ministries, agencies and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible have been made redundant, broken down by (a) voluntary redundancy, and (b) all other forms of redundancy, and of those staff, how many have subsequently been appointed to a new role at at the same ministry, agency or department, if any, since 27 November 2023?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that, since 27 November 2023, a total of 171 Stats NZ staff have been made redundant. Of this total figure, 88 accepted voluntary redundancy and 83 were other forms of redundancy. I am also advised that, since 27 November 2023, one employee who accepted voluntary redundancy was reappointed by Stats NZ. This is also my response to written parliamentary question 8132 (2025).
