Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Statistics: How many staff were appointed to a role that had the same or substantially similar responsibilities to the position from which they were made redundant, of those made redundant at ministries, agencies and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible since 27 November 2023?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that Stats NZ has re-appointed one individual on a four month fixed-term contract, who accepted voluntary redundancy since 27 November 2023, to a role with substantially similar responsibilities.
