Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: What accrued savings, if any, has the minister’s departments, ministries and agencies (if applicable within their portfolio) realised resulting from the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service?

Hon Louise Upston: I am advised by the Ministry of Social Development that the majority of savings will be realised from the 2024/2025 fiscal year. Proposals remain under active consideration and decisions will be announced on Budget Day (30 May 2024). The Independent Children's Monitor is also unable to provide a response to this question at this time as they relate to the Budget 2024 process which is considered budget sensitive.
