Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Veterans: How many staff at ministries, agencies and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible have been made redundant, broken down by (a) voluntary redundancy, and (b) all other forms of redundancy, and of those staff, how many have subsequently been appointed to a new role at the same ministry, agency or department from which they were made redundant, if any, since 27 November 2023?

Hon Chris Penk: For the New Zealand Defence, which includes Veterans Affairs, 148 individuals accepted voluntary redundancy and six were made redundant. No-one who was made redundant has been re-appointed to a new role within the New Zealand Defence Force.
