Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Prime Minister: What was the total amount paid in redundancy costs in the ministries, agencies and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible since 27 November 2023, broken down by (a) voluntary redundancies and (b) other redundancies, and what was the average payout for each category?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as the Prime Minister, I am the Responsible Minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is a departmental agency hosted by DPMC. Regarding part (a) of your question, I am advised that there have been no voluntary redundancies in DPMC or NEMA. Regarding part (b) of your question, I refer the member to my response to Written Parliamentary Question 3732 (2025).
