8049 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Police: What was the total amount paid in redundancy costs in the ministries, agencies and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible since 27 November 2023, broken down by (a) voluntary redundancies and (b) other redundancies, and what was the average payout for each category?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that since 27 November 2023 there have been 45 voluntary redundancies– all of which came from non-sworn staff. The total cost of those redundancies was $2,934,733 which equates to $65,216 per individual on average. During that period there were also 23 other redundancies as a result of the restructure, all of which were non-sworn staff, at a total cost of $1,364,289 which equates to $59,317 per individual on average.
