Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Māori Development: What was the total amount paid in redundancy costs in the ministries, agencies and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible since 27 November 2023, broken down by (a) voluntary redundancies and (b) other redundancies, and what was the average payout for each category?

Hon Tama Potaka: I am advised by Te Puni Kōkiri that between 27 November 2023 and 7 March 2025, $1,062,185 has been paid in staff redundancies. 11 staff concluded their employment with Te Puni Kōkiri by way of redundancy, giving an average cost of $96,562. There were no voluntary redundancies during this period.
