7994 (2026). Lan Pham to the Minister of Local Government: How many, if any, breaches of the Maximum Acceptable Value of e. coli in drinking water were found between 1 January 2026 and 11 March 2026?

Hon Simon Watts: During this period the Water Services Authority—Taumata Arowai received: • 14 notifications of E. coli MAV exceedances submitted for publicly registered supplies; • 60 notifications of E. coli MAV exceedances submitted by laboratories in relation to publicly registered supplies. *Note: Registered suppliers are required to submit water samples to accredited laboratories for analysis. Notifications submitted by suppliers and laboratories are recorded separately due to laboratories reporting multiple test results relating to a single exceedance event.
