Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Finance: What was the total amount paid in redundancy costs in the ministries, agencies and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible since 27 November 2023, broken down by (a) voluntary redundancies and (b) other redundancies, and what was the average payout for each category?

Hon Nicola Willis: Since 27 November 2023, the Treasury made five permanent employees redundant. The total costs of redundancies in this period was $129,700.15 and the average is $25,940.03. The Treasury has not made any voluntary redundancies. The total amount paid in redundancy costs for the Reserve Bank of New Zealand since 27 November 2023 is $ 119,794.50. There were no voluntary redundancies. The average payout for the other redundancies categories was $59,897.25.
