Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for the Environment: What was the total amount paid in redundancy costs in the ministries, agencies and/or departments for which the Minister is responsible since 27 November 2023, broken down by (a) voluntary redundancies and (b) other redundancies, and what was the average payout for each category?

Hon Penny Simmonds: I am advised by the Ministry for the Environment that the total amount paid in redundancy costs was $5,764,126.95. I refer the Member to the attached table showing the breakdown of voluntary redundancies, and other redundancies. The total costs of Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) staff redundancies between 27 November 2023 and 3 March 2025 was $458,109.67. The average payment was $35,239.20. The EPA did not have any voluntary redundancies.
